For our main task, it took quite a few times for us to film to make sure the shots were as perfect as we could make them.
On Sunday 22nd January, we started by filming the train scenes. We had met up during the late afternoon because we didn't want it too be too dark or too light. As we had filmed in late January, it was difficult when it came to filming as we had to get it done quite quickly so it didn't get too dark. We originally were going to film the whole thing in one day with shooting the park scenes straight after the train station but then we had realised the problems with that as it would get too dark that all the shots would be hard to see and the risks of it as well as it can be dangerous after dark.
We had arrived at the train station ready to film at a quiet and isolated time and we had all of our equipment on us like the camera, tripod, microphone etc. It was difficult for us to film the train shot as it was difficult to tell when the train was arriving and it rushed us on our first go so the shot was quite shaky as we didn't have time to place it on the tripod. Due to this, we had recreated that shot at a different time and we decided that we didn't want to have it shot on the tripod and instead hold it to give it a 'trembling' look.
Generally speaking, we felt as if all of our shots that we took on that day looked good and we managed to get it done before it got too dark.
On Sunday 29th January, we had filmed at Punt Hill Park. We met later in the afternoon to film these shots as we wanted the time contrast to go well and smoothly with the train station so we needed the setting to be a bit darker than the train station shots but as we got into the editing process, we realised we could edit the brightness and contrast to our needs.
We had taken a few establishing shots of the park as we wanted it to see what it would look like it the shot was taken by hand or with a tripod. We decided that the tripod would be better as it looks more professional and skilled. Another reason why we retook this establishing shot is because we wanted to get the surroundings looking as empty as possible and we didn't want to film anyone in the shot in case they had any problem with it.
Another shot that was hard to take was the one where the figure in black was standing by the tree and we had taken an over the shoulder shot of him and when the two girls were running away. This was difficult to shoot as it was getting darker quickly so by the time we were ready to film that shot, it was already quite dark so due to this reason, we had to come back at a different time on a different day and re-film some of these shots.
On Friday 3rd February, we had gone back to Punt Hill to re-film the shots that had bad lighting from the park.
